Restoration of the Aquarium Grotto Garden
Active, began March 2013
The Association used funds from its first Taste of Zamalek to refurbish the Aquarium Grotto Garden (Fish Garden).
The Association used funds from its first Taste of Zamalek to refurbish the Fish Garden. At first, it completely renovated the Children’s Playground. Then, with the help of community members, it raised more funds to renovate the park’s restrooms, its small mosque, and its drinking fountain. The new Children’s Playground and renovated Restroom Facilities were inaugurated on December 7, 2013, during the Association’s third Taste of Zamalek event.
For park renovations, special thanks to: Aladdin Saba, Alia Defrawi & Hazem Barakat, GEMMA, Hamid Sabry, Ibrahim Shawky, Roca Egypt, Scib Paints, and Yasser Hashem.
The Association has been involved in organizing and funding waste removal and cleaning of the Park, as well as maintaining its plants and trees.
Currently, the Association’s Fish Garden Committee obtained approval from the Ministry of Agriculture to commission a study for an overall restoration of the park, including a new state-of-the-art Aquarium.
